They say that a gaming console lives and dies by its accessories. Sony knows this all too well. And this is exactly why the company unveiled a whole lineup of PS5 accessories that will be part of the package.
These went official at the big event earlier today.
But even then, there is a lot to process here. We have a bunch of different accessories that complement the PlayStation gaming console, including the PS5 Pulse 3D wireless headset, an HD camera, a DualSense charging station, even a media remote.
The already revealed DualSense controller is the star of the show, of course.
Only thing missing was a refresh of the PlayStation VR, which was not revealed in any sort of new form for the PlayStation 5. But there is speculation that the HD Camera will provide a similar type of controllerless interface.
The accessories for the PS5 look great and all, and we have what can be termed as the full range of interesting peripherals for the console. At least, when it comes to the first collection of accessories that arrive with the console when it launches later this year.
However, just like the console itself, Sony is yet to drop the pricing details of these peripherals.
What we do know is that they will not be cheap — first-party accessories rarely are.
And then there is also the little fact to consider that most of these fancy devices come housing powerful internal circuitry to make the most use of the hardware and software potential of the PlayStation 5 console.
Expect some appropriately big numbers tied to these accessories, when they hit store shelves.
